Nicole never fails to KILL the make up, she’s incredible! And of course, the Daft Punk glasses had to make a comeback. I love when the group experiments with different looks and these were stunning, down to every last detail even Mitch’s freckles. Simplicity is key and the warm vibrant colours tied into the theme nicely.

The make up looks are incredible as always. There’s something so comforting about videos filmed in this format, it’s as if it’s their signature, which is by no means a bad thing. The white background allows the flashes of bright colour to really pop and give the j-pop feel and the editing itself brings the feel of the ‘I Need Your Love’ video with alternating facial/profile shots. One thing the group has mastered is keeping music videos simple yet effective. Although it’s a similar concept to such videos, it’s different in its own right. The make up, the lighting, the editing everything. When it comes to the video I instantly get Love Again/Daft Punk vibes, with the best aspects of both. Props to the group for taking the time to accurately learn the pronunciation of the song, it’s not easy. It’s out of the box and although I don’t understand the majority of what’s being said it’s nonetheless amazing. Each has its own exclusivity and this is 100% the case with the Perfume Medley. Somehow, Pentatonix always manages to do something different with each arrangement, so none sound similar. The trio managed the vocals flawlessly as always and Kirstin absolutely kills it on the the lead, her voice couldn’t be more perfect for the songs displayed. Whilst quirky and upbeat, the featured songs still allow Avi and Kevin to showcase their vocal talents sufficiently. It’s something I never thought I’d say but this style of music really lends itself to PTX’s strengths. The medley integrates the signature Japanese pop sounds of Perfume and Pentatonix’s authentic take on a cappella. It’s one thing to cover a song with such technique in your own language, let alone in a language you have little experience speaking. Of course, Pentatonix are known for pushing the boundaries of modern music and I often find myself in awe of their creations the most recent being another shock to the system. At this point, many of us are used to new content being dropped out of seemingly nowhere but we were all stunned to discover the quintet covered a range of songs from the Japanese girl band, Perfume. Some 3 months after their last upload, we have finally been blessed with more Pentatonix content.
